PM Mr. Modi to call on Pope Francis at the Vatican before attending G-20 summit
PM Mr. Modi is all set to visit the Sovereign of Vatican City State and attend the G-20 summit on 30th October 2021. Mr. Narendra Modi is set to meet Pope Francis before the summit to be held in Rome
Later on, he is to visit Glasgow to strategize climate change planning at the COP261 summit. Along with this, PM Mr. Modi is to attend several key events in the UK to deal with challenges to face climate change planning. He will visit the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
The foreign secretary of the UK Elizabeth Truss is currently visiting India. She is to convert the messages from PM Boris to PM Modi to stay beyond the COP26 Summit. Fixing the standards of humanitarian mindset throughout the world is a deeper concern of all the nations to visit the summit as per the resources.
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi is said to be holding meetings with various officials. He is expected to push forward the budget invested in the climate strategies of India.
What is G-20?
The G20 is the international forum that brings together the world’s major economies and aims at uniting world nations to deal with challenges unitedly
In 1999, in the wake of the 1997 economic crisis, the G7 (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US)Finance Ministers announced the creation of the “Group of 20”, aimed at including other countries in their discussions related to global economics and finance.
The first official meeting of the G20 was held in Berlin in December that same year.
The forum has met every year since 1999 and includes, since 2008, a yearly Summit, with the participation of the respective Heads of State and Government.
Following the 2008 financial crisis, the United States proposed to increase the level of participation of the G20 to Heads of State and Government.
