The fourth Test match between Australia and India will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 9, 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese will attend.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy final is predicted to attract over 100,000 people. In order to protect the stadium and the surrounding regions of the city, the Ahmedabad police have sent out more than 3,000 officers.
On the invitation of the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Albanese is traveling to India for the first time. After spending a couple hours watching the game, the two leaders are scheduled to leave.
Several dignitaries could join Albanese and Modi, including the Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat, and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and others.
India, captained by Rohit Sharma, is aiming to win the game and the Test series 3-1 to secure a spot in the World Test Championship final for a second consecutive year.
Anthony Albanese expressed his desire to further develop Australia's relationship with India earlier in the day before his visit, saying that it was important to do so at a time of rapid expansion and dynamism, particularly in the areas of trade, security, and people-to-people ties. "This trip demonstrates our commitment to deepening our links with India, and to being a force for stability and growth in our region. We have a historic opportunity to strengthen our relationship with India, at a time of extraordinary growth and dynamism in our region," he said.
On his four-day journey, Mr. Albanese is accompanied by a group of ministers and business executives. He will go to Mumbai after Ahmedabad on Thursday before landing in New Delhi later in the day.
