At its I/O 2023 developer conference on Wednesday, Google unveiled a new feature for Gmail that would make it simpler and faster for users to compose emails.
The new AI tool, "Help Me Write," creates email drafts based on user input using artificial intelligence.
Users will just need to begin composing an email in order to utilise the new Help Me Write function, and then click the "Help Me Write" button. After that, the AI will automatically create an outline of the email, which the user may edit and send as needed.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that the new 'Help Me Write' AI feature for Gmail may be used for a range of email activities, like writing a brief thank-you message, setting up a meeting, or following up on a lead. Additionally, the AI can produce email templates for typical scenarios like job applications or refund requests.
Notably, Help Me Write is still under development and will be made gradually available to consumers after being introduced to "trusted testers" in March. When it becomes accessible, though, it may help users write emails more quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, the tool will probably become much more beneficial in the future as it learns and develops. For instance, it would be able to provide more customised emails or propose more pertinent information.

- Access Gmail and login using your credentials.
- Press the compose button to launch a fresh email.
- Get your email started.
- Next to the submit button, a tiny pencil icon with a glitter will emerge as you type.
- To access the "Help Me Write" option, click on the pencil icon.
You may choose from a number of alternatives under the “Help Me Write” menu to assist you with your email, including:
- Suggesting phrases and words
- Sentence completion
- Email template creation
- Grammar and spelling checks
The AI will assist you with your email if you choose the desired option.
- Click the submit button to send your email once you have completed composing it.
