Hari Budhamagar, a double amputee and former British Gurkha soldier, is the first person in his category to successfully climb Mount Everest using prosthetic legs.
On Friday afternoon, the 43-year-old completed this accomplishment by ascending the 8,848.86-metre peak. Budhamagar, a soldier who lost both of his legs in Afghanistan in 2010, scaled Mount Everest with prosthetic limbs.

A government rule that forbade blind, double-amputee, and solo climbers in 2018 forced Hari Budhamagar to postpone his plans to climb Mount Everest.
After a written petition, the Supreme Court issued an order lifting the ban. This made it possible for Budhamagar to continue his legendary climb.
