According to a document and individuals cited by the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Apple Inc. has limited the application of ChatGPT and other commercial artificial intelligence applications for its staff members as Apple develops comparable technology.
According to the article, Apple has warned its staff not to make use of GitHub's Copilot, a tool used to facilitate the creation of software code that is owned by Microsoft, out of worry that their usage of AI programs may cause them to divulge private information.
The company that developed ChatGPT, OpenAI, announced a month ago that it had added an "incognito mode" that did not record users' chat histories or use them to enhance ChatGPT's artificial intelligence.
Concern has grown over the way ChatGPT along with the other chatbots manages the millions of individual's information, which is frequently used to enhance, or "train," AI for its betterment.
On Thursday morning, OpenAI unveiled the ChatGPT software for Apple's iOS in the US.
The request made by Reuters for feedback was not met by Apple, OpenAI, or Microsoft.
