The finals game between the Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings was incredibly gripping. After CSK defeated GT, delighted spectators chanted MS Dhoni's name to mark the Men in Yellow's historic victory. Chanting "Dhoni Dhoni" made it evident how excited and devoted the crowd was to the cricket player. They also lavished praise on Ravindra Jadeja, who completed the game in Dhoni's fashion by hitting a six and four on the final two balls.
Due to rain, MS Dhoni and the team's aim was lowered from 215 runs to 171 runs, which they needed to win in 15 overs. The match was won by Sir Ravindra Jadeja with the bat after excellent starts from the openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
CSK started out well as they chased a decent total of 171 runs in just 15 overs. However, the Titans were able to sever the partnership when Gaikwad and Conway abruptly left their posts. Chennai was able to stay in the game because of some solid cameos from Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, and Ambati Rayudu.
The men in yellow had a mountain to climb because the efficient Mohit Sharma was scheduled to bowl the final over with 13 runs needed. After the first four balls only produced 3, everyone's throats ran dry as Jadeja took strike with only 10 balls left.
By hitting a six off the fifth ball to leave four more runs, he gave CSK some hope. The final ball was subsequently struck for a four, and Jadeja wheeled away in delight as CSK was once again declared champion.
In order to win their fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) championship, Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets in Ahmedabad thanks to a fifty-run partnership between Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad, cameos from Shivam Dube, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Chennai now shares the record for the most IPL trophies won by a side with Mumbai Indians thanks to their fifth IPL championship.
While CSK won the trophy in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and lastly in 2023 under Dhoni's captaincy, in a last-ball thriller after the target was amended in a rain-shortened match, team MI won the championship in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
The third team on the list is Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who was led by Gautam Gambhir and won the championship in 2012 and 2014. Hyderabad has also triumphed twice, albeit with different names. Adam Gilchrist served as their captain when they first won in 2009 as the Deccan Chargers, and David Warner guided them to victory in 2016 as the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The internet was flooded with praise for Jadeja and the freshly crowned champions after a match befitting of an IPL finale.
