March 28, 2023: The Bangalore International Center, hosts the Future Fantastic Festival for the first time in India, where technology meets art. Here's all you need to know about this one-of-a-kind Festival!
Artificial intelligence has gained a lot of ground in various fields recently. It is being utilised from day-to-day activities to higher level processing in various companies. All major industries currently utilise the various advantages of artificial intelligence in their operations, starting from manufacturing to sales.
Recently, BeFantastic (India) and FutureEverything (UK) collaborated on a unique celebration of AI by introducing art with technology.
The FutureFantastic Festival aims towards conveying the message of climate emergency and the impact of climate change with a unique artistic flare matched with world-class artificial intelligence.
The festival is India's first one-of-a-kind art-tech festival being held at the Bangalore International Center. The artists from India and UK collaborated virtually to create nine art installations that are being displayed at this festival.
But why Climate change? Jonathan Kennedy, Director of Arts- India, British Council shared that, “ Climate change is the most urgent global challenge of our time. The FutureFantastic festival is perhaps the world’s first AI and Arts festival with artists in CreaTec and performing arts from Bengaluru and Manchester, and around the world collaborating to create innovative new pieces of art, games and immersive digital and live performance experiences addressing water conservation, a torrent of waste and endangered habitats.” He added that “more artists from across the world are now collaborating digitally, especially post-pandemic.”
The festival was directed and co-curated by Kamya Ramachandran. She is also the Founder and Director of BeFantastic. Kamya is an architect by education but practises public space design by focusing keenly on community-engaged design through workshops and events. Karthik KG was the creative technology used behind this initiative and was the TechArt lead of the team behind BeFantastic.
Kamya Ramachandran expressed her motive behind the festival and said that physical and digital art is in a space of coexistence where artists can utilise the various aspects of artificial intelligence for inspiration and ideas and the creation of modern art.
