The new bosses of DC Comics, James Gunn and Peter Safran have decided to drop Henry Cavill as their Superman’s actor. Henry Cavill said, “I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it's sad news, everyone. I will, after all, not be returning as Superman.” James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC in the month of October. Henry Cavill mentioned, “James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.”
Cavill appeared as Superman in DC’s Black Adam’s post credit scene. Back then he stated, “I wanted to make it official, that I am back as Superman." The Black Adam cameo was "just a very small taste of things to come.”
Henry Cavill made his debut in the DC universe with Man Of Steel in 2013. After that, he acted in Dawn Of Justice and Justice League. Henry Cavill came out to be one of the finest actors to portray the legendary comic hero, Superman.
The reason why DC decided to drop Cavill as Superman is because according to James Gunn, the new edition of the Superman movie will focus on the earlier part of Superman’s life.
James Gunn said, “In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman's life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill.” After making this announcement, Gunn mentioned that, in a meeting with Henry Cavill, they have discussed a lot of thrilling possibilities for the future where they might work together.
