India has smashed the record for the quickest team to score 100 in Test cricket history. In their second innings of the second and final Test of the series against the West Indies in Trinidad, India scored 100 runs in just 12.2 overs, breaking the previous record.
In 44 balls, Rohit Sharma accumulated 57. Yashasvi Jaiswal, his new opening partner, scored 38 off 30 balls in contrast.
Earlier, the West Indies were held to 255 runs thanks to Mohammed Siraj's five-wicket haul. India scored 438 runs, taking a 183-run lead.

In the first session, the Indian players who batted first scored frequently. Jaiswal and Rohit both attacked the enemy. After having the Windies all out in the first hour of a lengthy first session on Day 4, Sharma scored 98 runs in the following session. The Indian captain reached fifty points but was stopped at 57 from 44 balls due to a weather delay. Jaiswal, his companion, was still unbeaten at 37 from 28 balls. When lunch was consumed early, the rain gates opened, and the Men in Blue returned at 98/1. Early in the second session, Jaiswal was dismissed for 38.
