March 1, 2022 - Pepsi launches first-ever Nitrogen infused cola:
new Nitro Pepsi is softer than a soft drink. It is creamy and smooth and instead of aggressive bubbles, it has a frothy foam head. It's not that Nitro Pepsi will have no bubbles at all. The bubbles in this drink will be much smaller, as, in addition to being infused with nitrogen, there will be a widget placed at the bottom of every can, thus giving it a creamy and smooth texture. This kind of technology has been used in the coffee and other beverages industries, and will now be applied to the cola category.
March 1, 2022-OnePlus launches world’s largest mobile experience store: OnePlus, one of the largest smartphone makers in the world has launched a brand new OnePlus Boulevard experience store in Bengaluru, which is the company’s largest store of its kind in the world. The one of a kind store is located on Brigade Road, at the heart of India’s own Silicon Valley. Two floors combined, it includes over 39,000 square feet of retail space, with multiple exit and entry points. This makes the store feel more like a mall, except the whole mall is only for OnePlus.
March 2, 2022-India scales up rescue operations in Ukraine, 4 union ministers to oversee evacuation: Union ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Gen (Rtd) V.K. Singh and Kiren Rijiju will be positioned in Ukraine's neighbouring countries Hungary, Romania-Moldova, Poland and Slovak Republic, respectively, to coordinate and oversee the evacuation of Indians.This was announced after a meeting held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who said the “entire government machinery is working round-the-clock to ensure that all Indian nationals there are safe and secure,”
March 2, 2022 - New sanctions including SWIFT ban imposed on Russia by US and Allies: The Biden administration announced additional sanctions against Russia’s central bank, prohibiting Americans from doing any business with the Russian bank while freezing its assets within the United States. March 2, 2022 - Ilker Ayci declines Tata’s Offer to become Air India CEO: Former Turkish Airlines chairman Ilker Ayci declined the role as the chief executive officer of Air India, which was recently acquired by the Tata group. Ayci was appointed as the CEO a month ago, after Tata took over the debt-laden airlines, and was expected to take charge on or before April 1. Ayci’s appointment was opposed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s affiliate Swadeshi Jagaran Manch. There were also problems with his security clearance from the ministry of home affairs.
March 2, 2022 - MyGov announced the winner for the ‘Vaccine Century Rap Contest’: The efforts of medical workers, healthcare staff, frontline workers and all the possible stakeholders finally paid off last year, when India achieved the 100-crore vaccination mark on 21st November. After achieving this landmark, MyGov, the government’s platform where citizens engage each other and with the authority members, launched a one-of-a-kind Rap Battle. Mr Vineeth, with User ID 124815641, was declared as the winner of the contest. He has received a cash prize of ₹20,000. March 2, 2022 - Government invites applications for National Startup Awards 2022: The third edition of the National Start-up Awards was launched by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) which was open to applications till March 15, 2022. March 3, 2022 - World Wildlife Day is observed on March 3: The theme for this year’s World Wildlife Day is Recovering key species for ecosystem restoration. The purpose of this theme is to focus more on those species, which are already facing risks of extinction, vulnerability, or are on the verge of becoming endangered. This includes both flora and fauna. In order to achieve this goal, significant discussions to drive out comprehensive solutions, by imagining, debating and implementing new ideas are required.
March 4, 2022 - Three-ton rocket to crash on the far side of the Moon: The surface of the moon witnesses a huge crater-formation again, as a three-ton rocket crashes into its far side, with a speed of 9,300 km/h. Although initially thought to be a SpaceX falcon-9 rocket, the rocket was later identified as the second stage of China's Chang’e-5 mission. The crash, though, could not be monitored through telescopes or bare eyes, since the far side of the moon remains completely in darkness.
March 4, 2022 - Former Army chief General Sunith Francis Rodrigues passed away at the age of 88: He led the Indian Army between 1990 and 1993, and served as the governor of Punjab between 2004 and 2010. He also served two terms on the National Security Advisory Board.
March 4, 2022 - Australia's legendary leg-spinner, Shane Warne, passes away at the age of 52: He was holidaying with his friends when the incident took place, in Koh Samui, Thailand. March 4, 2022 - Amazon’s Luna cloud gaming service officially launched in the US: Amazon Luna just officially launched in the US. Although not completely out yet, Prime members can access the service right away at zero additional cost. Amazon states that Luna can play games up to 1080p/60 fps, which would be pretty good by itself on a standalone computer, but is amazing considering that it is a cloud gaming service
March 5, 2022 - Daniil Medvedev Replaces Novak Djokovic As World Number One: According to the latest ATP rankings [Association of Tennis Professional], Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev has succeeded Novak Djokovic as world number 1. This is particularly special because he is the first since 2004, out of the BIG FOUR to occupy the top spot. Medvedev is the third Russian man after Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Marat Safin, and 27th player, to become World No. 1.
March 6, 2022 - Manchester City beat Manchester United in the Manchester derby: Manchester City beat local rivals Manchester United 4-1, to further solidify their lead at the top of the Premier League table. Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez both scored twice. The player United missed the most was centre back Rafael Varane, as both he and left-back Luke Shaw missed out after testing positive for coronavirus.
March 7, 2022 - Manasi Joshi adds a new feather to her cap: 2019 World Para-Badminton champion Manasi Joshi climbed to the top spot of the BWF para-badminton rankings and grabbing the World No.1 spot in the Women’s Singles SL3 category. Tokyo gold medallist Pramod Bhagat has also been dominating the top spot of Men’s Singles, and with Manasi’s achievement, India now has two World No. 1s in para-badminton in the SL3 Singles category
March 7, 2022 - “No To War”: Entire Staff Of Russian TV Channel Resigns Live On-Air: After being ordered to shut down due to coverage of Ukraine's invasion, under the new media censorship by the Putin government, Russian television channel TV Rain (Dozhd) suspended operations. In a video that went viral, the entire staff could be seen leaving the studio after one of its employees, , “no to war”. Before resigning, the channel played a Russian ballet ‘Swan Lake’, as it did in August, 1991 during an attempted coup which was the beginning of the end of the USSR, or the Soviet Union.
March 8, 2022 - President Ram Nath Kovind confers ‘Nari Shakti Puraskars’ on 29 women: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, 29 extraordinary women were awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskars by the Indian Government. A day earlier, the awards were presented PM Modi met the women and interacted with them.He said that the success of government efforts, like vocal for local, is dependent on the contribution of women.
March 8, 2022 - Feature phones enable UPI payments: The Reserve Bank of India launched a new service to enable UPI payments for non-smartphone users. UPI '123PAY' is a three-step method to initiate and execute services for users which will work on simple phones which do not have an internet connection. Except for the scan and pay option that is available to smartphone users, feature phone users will get access to all other UPI features.
March 10, 2022 - Yoon Suk-yeol wins South Korea’s presidential election: Yoon Suk-yeol, of the conservative People Power Party, won the presidential race in South Korea, defeating his chief liberal rival Lee Jae-myung after a bitter nail-biting vote count overnight. With over 99% of the votes counted, Yoon from the main opposition People Power Party had 48.6% against ruling liberal Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung’s 47.8%
March 10, 2022 - RIL launches Jio World Centre, Mumbai’s new ‘landmark’: Reliance Industries Limited announced the opening of the Jio World Centre, claimed to be India's largest and most prestigious multifaceted destination. It covers an area of 18.5 acres in Bandra Kurla complex and was envisioned by Nita Ambani. March 12, 2022 - BTS came to India virtually, much to the excitement of Indian BTS fans: PVR Cinemas had struck a deal to screen the Seoul concert exclusively, as one of the largest fanbases in the world was visibly excited for the return of their favourite musical group. Owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, the group refrained from holding any concerts out of fear for the safety of everyone involved.
March 13, 2022 - 21-year old Anamika dives into World records in style: The 21-year old engineer from Sangam City has become the first Indian woman to win a licence for professional sky-diving. Anamika Sharma has successfully performed 42 jumps, using six different aircrafts and 10 different parachutes
March 15, 2022 - World famous solar physicist, Eugene Parker, dies at the age of 94: The landmark Parker Solar Probe was named after world famous heliophysicist Eugene Parker, who was also the very first astrophysicist to theorise the existence of solar winds. The announcement of his death was made last Wednesday by the University of Chicago, where Mr Parker invested his entire career virtually. He served as the chairman of the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics from 1972 to 1978
March 15, 2022 - Jhulan Goswami becomes the highest female wicket taker in history: Veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami became the all-time highest wicket taker in the entire history of the ICC women's World Cup after bagging 40 wickets in her long 22-year-old career. With this total, she surpassed the tally of 39 wickets taken by Australia's Lynette Fullston in her career spanning from 1982 to 1988.
March, 2022 - Indian Army engineers build a unique 3D printed house: The Indian Army's Military Engineering Services (MES) constructed two houses using 3D Rapid Construction Technology, in a span of about 21 days. They have been built in the South-Western AirCommand, Gandhinagar with a one-of-a-kind infrastructure in India. The buildings have been constructed in collaboration with Tvasta, a Chennai-based start-up. They have been built over an area of around 700 square feet, with disaster-resilient structures in compliance with Zone-3 earthquake specifications
March 18, 2022 - China decides to shut down Shenzhen as Omicron surge continues in the city: China’s high tech-oriented city, Shenzhen, had to be shut down recently by the government, due to an increasing surge of Covid cases. Shenzhen has a population of over 17 million, and planned to close down all villages and communities, and suspend transport services like metros and buses from 21st March onwards.
March 18, 2022 - Atletico Madrid knockout Manchester United at Old Trafford: Atletico Madrid might have had a stellar campaign last season, but just like United, their performance this year was lacklustre and very different from the same title-winning side that we saw last time around. However, this win would give them the confidence they need on reaching as far as possible in the Champions League and also focus on clinching a top-four spot in the Spanish league.

March 21, 2022 - Nadal wins against Alcaraz to reach Indian Wells Finals: In the clash of the generations, Rafael Nadal defeated teenager Carlos Alcaraz 6-4 4-6 6-3 in a nail-biting match to make his way through the Indian Wells finals.“I am super happy to be in the final,” Nadal said in his on-court interview. “It means a lot to me, and I’ll just keep going.”
March 21, 2022 - Turkey opens record-breaking bridge between Europe and Asia: The President of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated a massive suspension bridge over the Dardanelles Strait that connects the European and Asian shores of the key waterway. With a 6,637-foot span - 1¼ miles (more than 2 Kms.) between its towers, the 1915 Canakkale Bridge becomes the world’s longest suspension bridge. It’s central span of 2,023 meters (6,637 feet) is in recognition of the year 2023, when Turkey celebrates the centenary of the founding of the Turkish Republic.

March 20, 2022 - India and Japan Launch clean energy partnership: where both the countries will cooperate and work towards achieving sustainable economic growth, addressing climate change, and ensuring energy security. The two Prime Ministers also agreed to continue discussions on further cooperating to establish the Joint Crediting Mechanism for the implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement1. March 24, 2022 - World number one Ashleigh Barty announces retirement at 25: stating that she was ‘spent physically’ after fulfilling her dreams. This news comes days after Barty became the first Australian Open champion at home in 44 years, thus winning the Grand Slam on all the three surfaces. She grabbed 15 titles in singles, with a 305-102 record, and 12 in doubles, with a 200-64 record, a lot more than any other player has ever done so far in that timespan.
March 24, 2022 - Jamaica PM tells royal couple island will seek independence: Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness told Prince William and Kate that the British commonwealth intends to become fully independent and address "unresolved" issues, a day after protesters called on the United Kingdom to pay reparations for slavery. Dozens of people gathered outside the British High Commission in Kingston, singing traditional Rastafarian songs and holding banners with the phrase "seh yuh sorry" - a local patois phrase that urged Britain to apologize.

March 26, 2022 - North Korea tests banned intercontinental missile: North Korea has fired what is suspected to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) towards the sea off its east coast, South Korea and Japan’s militaries said. Japanese officials said it flew 1,100 km (684 miles) and fell in Japanese waters after flying for over an hour.Though Pyongyang has conducted other missile tests this year, this test involved what appeared to be the most powerful missile North Korea has launched.
March, 2022 - India achieved its goods export target of USD 400 billion (30 lakh crore INR) this fiscal year: This is the first time that India’s merchandise exports have crossed (22.2 lakh crore INR) 400 billion in a fiscal year, and the target was even achieved nine days ahead of the March 31 deadline. Compared to 2020-2021’s USD 292 billion, the exports rose by 37 per cent to reach the 400 million mark in 2021-2022
March 27, 2022 - Two of the largest multiplex firms PVR and INOX, previously competitors, merge together: PVR, India's largest multiplex chain with more than 850 screens, followed by INOX Leisure with about 650 screens announce a merger to create a giant cinema operator with more than 1,500 screens across 109 cities As per the agreement, INOX will merge with PVR in a share swap ratio of 3 shares of PVR for every 10 shares of INOX
March 28, 2022 - Oscar 2022 winners. Dune leads the way with 6 wins: The most talked about events of the night, Dune won 6 out of the 10 awards it was nominated for, sweeping the floor for the most awards won on the night. The most controversial moment came from Will Smith, who won the Best Actor for his role in King Richard.
