The New Jio Freedom Plan byReliance Jio removes the daily upper limit / cap on data usage. The user may use any amount of data anytime during the validity of the plan.
The plan, in addition, also offers unlimited voice calling and access to Jio cinema, Jio News and Jio TV.
This definitely brings more freedom and flexibility to Users and we assume the competition also will follow soon and introduce aggressive plans to retain/ entice users.
As on 31st January 2021 among wireless subscribers, as per TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) , Jio had the highest market share at 35.30 per cent, Airtel with the second largest at 29.62 per cent and Vi (Vodafone India) with 24.58 per cent. BSNL had 10.21 per cent market share.
The company had over 405 million subscribers during the same time period.
The Indian telecom industry has registered a strong growth in the recent years and became the second-largest telecommunications industry in the world with a gross revenue from the industry amounting to approximately 1.2 trillion INR rupees in fiscal year 1999 - 2020.
