The Republic Day parade 2023 will definitely be remembered as one of our most cherished celebrations in these 75 years of Independence, since this year, the event will include some very special invitees!
This list of special guests will include rickshaw pullers, vegetable vendors, Shramjeevis, or workers who helped build the Central Vista, their families, maintenance workers of Kartavya Path, and other small grocers, thus truly reflecting upon the spirit of a Republic nation. These special dignitaries will be seated in the front row of the main dais during the parade.
"Participation of the common people” is the theme for this year's R-Day celebrations.
Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will grace the ceremony with his presence as the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 this year. A 120-member marching parade contingent from Egypt will also participate in the special ceremony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government has been prioritising the representation of common Indian people in all governmental events and programmes. Republic Day 2022 parade witnessed the participation of autorickshaw drivers, construction workers, sanitation workers and frontline workers as invitees.
Infact, the Padma awards also gained special popularity last year after achievers from marginalised communities and low-key artists, suggested by common people to the Padma Awards Committee, including folk artists, social workers, musicians, sportspersons, people in social service and others.
Additionally, the Ministries of Tribal Affairs and Defence will also be hosting special events to highlight the diverse art forms of different India states, and delectable food items will also be put out during Bharat Parv at the Red Fort. The flypast will consist of 23 fighters, 18 helicopters and 8 transporter aircrafts.
Previously known as the Rajpath, which used to host the usual Republic Day parades, the path was renamed the Kartavya Path during the inauguration of the revamped Central Vista Avenue in September 2022. The number of seats for the parade have been brought down to 45,000. 32,000 of these seats and 10% of the total seats for the Beating Retreat event tickets are available for online sale to the public.
