The popular messaging software WhatsApp is apparently working on a number of new features that would improve user experience. According to recent internet rumours, the platform, which is owned by Meta, is developing a new feature intended to enhance the video calling interaction with its customers.
The act of sharing your screen's contents with another device or a group of devices is known as screen sharing. This gives you total control over how much of your desktop is shown while still ensuring your privacy. It can encompass all the objects on a screen or just one window.
The messaging app is presently rolling out a feature that lets users easily share their screen while participating in a video call, claims WABetaInfo, a website that tracks changes in WhatsApp's development. Android beta testers who have installed the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.11.19 are presently able to use this feature.
Beta version is a software version that is made accessible for testing before it is released to the public, usually by a small group of people outside the firm that is producing it.
The workings of WhatsApp's screen sharing function have been described in great depth by WABetaInfo. Users will observe a new icon in the call control pane, which will act as a prompt for starting screen sharing, based on their results. When users choose to share their screen, whatever is visible on their own screen is captured and sent to the other user.
This update by far is only available for Android users, WhatsApp is yet to announce the update for IOS users.
